Welcome to Lundy!

Aerial view of Lundy from the south. © John Alford. All rights reserved May 1998. Lundy is an island in the Bristol Channel off the west coast of Britain (Map). It attracts many visitors, both for its peaceful surroundings and scientific research. The waters around it are England's only statutory Marine Nature Reserve. The island itself is mostly granite with a farmed area at the south and open moorland to the north, protected by numerous environmental designations.

Most scientific work is organised through the Lundy Field Society (who maintain these pages).

We hope to add more information on the history, wildlife, archaeology and geology of Lundy soon. In the meantime, look at the Island Studies pages which contain brief summaries or explore the virtual tour.
